It is possible to make money from dropshipping on eBay but it is also extremely difficult. I’ve dropshipped on eBay in the past.
I’ve also sold many items on eBay and I know a bit about both options. As far as dropshipping on that platform goes, it is not the easiest way to make extra income.

The Competition on Ebay is Fierce
Even as a regular seller I found it challenging to sell many products. I would source most of my inventory from thrift stores.
I would think there would be less competition selling items I’ve found from thrift stores but there would still be other sellers selling the same items.
Many years ago, I signed up with a company that also dropshipped their items. I figured I could post these items on eBay and mark them up for a profit.
It didn’t take long for me to realize that other people also used this same supplier and sold their items for much cheaper.
Whether or not they dropshipped or bought the same products in bulk, I do not know. What I do know is that there was no way for me to compete.
I couldn’t drop the prices on the products any lower. Since I wasn’t making much of a profit, I ended up removing my listings and calling it quits.
When I discovered AliExpress as a dropship supplier, I listed a few items that I thought would do extremely well sales-wise.
If you are not familiar with AliExpress, it is an online retail service made up of small businesses which are primarily based in China. The company is owned by Alibaba.
Before too long, I again discovered that dropshipping on eBay is still as difficult today as it was many years ago.
Dropship Suppliers are Already Top Sellers (Powersellers)
A lot of dropshippers use AliExpress as their product supplier. However, many of these dropshippers have opened their own online stores.
One reason is that a lot of the suppliers on AliExpress are top sellers on eBay themselves. They can offer their products at rock-bottom prices.
There is no way to compete with the suppliers. This is why creating a store completely separate from eBay gives you a much better advantage.
You are at the Mercy of eBay
When we sold on eBay the one thing we struggled with was having our listings viewed. eBay has an algorithm of their own when it comes to which listings show first.
Another issue were the customer reviews. Keeping a 100% positive feeback rating is extremely helpful when it comes to making sales.
We received one negative review and it dropped our rating down enough to have us worried. That is no way to run your business.
It is scary to have to rely on one service for your income. If anything, it is ideal to have your own dropship store and sell on eBay to supplement your income if you want.
Open Your Own Dropship Store Using AliDropship
One of the best ways to get around relying on an e-commerce platform such as eBay is to create a dropship store of your own.
There are many advantages to owning your own dropship store. Some of them include:

Can You Make Money Dropshipping on Ebay? – Not Really
It isn’t impossible and there probably some eBay dropshippers that are an exception to the rule. However, for most of us, it is very difficult to make money on eBay as a dropshipper.
I think if dropshipping truly interests you, you’d do much better investing into your own online business.
